Monthly Update - 23 Months Old Today!

We have been home one month and Caitlyn has gained 3 pounds. She is not yet walking but she sure is trying and she has all the bumps and bruises to prove it.

Welcome To Our Journal

We are Jeff and Angela from South Carolina. Our adoption journey started in October 2004 when we started the adoption of our daughter Emelia. Emelia was adopted on March 27, 2006 from Maoming MaoNan, Guangdong Province China.

On January 12, 2007 we started the adoption process for Caitlyn. April 13, 2007 we were officially logged in. On June 3, 2009 we received the call from our agency. In two short months we already have a tentative travel date.

Caitlyn was born January 13, 2008 and she is at the Poyang SWI in Jiangxi Province. Her Chinese name is Bo Ao Lian and the Ao - means she was born the year of the Olympics in China and Lian means beautiful plant.

Caitlyn is a special needs baby with a growth delay. All other paperwork indicates that she is healthy. At 11 months her weight was 14.77 pounds and her height was 22 inches.

We have received one update since June and she has grown to 28 1/2 inches and weighs 18 1/2 pounds.
