Welcome To Our Journal

Hello to all our family and friends! We invite you to share in our journey which leads us to our daughter, Miss Natalie Grace.

With much thought and alot of prayer we decided on Mothers Day of last year (2006) to adopt, both agreeing a little girl from China. With alot of research and references we chose Children's Hope International as our agency located in Manhattan. Thank you Tina Qualls, from St. louis (CHI Headquarters), our adoption social worker,for all you do! We feel we are in the BEST of hands. We then began gathering all the necessary paperwork to put together "Our Dossier" which consists of our birth certificates, marriage certificate, fingerprints, background checks and 3 homestudy visits from our social worker, Pam Deman, to make sure we are mentally sound (I know many people are laughing at that one) and to make sure our home was okay. She will also complete 3 post visits at 3,6 & 12 months after we bring her home. We have the best social worker-just wanted to thank her for easing our minds--SHE'S THE BEST!

We then took all 14 documents and had them notarized, county certified, state certified and finally approved and stamped by the Chinese Consulate. The paperwork took us 6 months to complete (June-Nov.06).

Our completed dossier was mailed (DTC) Date to China on Nov.30. After all was translated, we are officially logged in at the CCAA (The China Center of Adoption Affairs) on Jan 15, 2007.
