Welcome To Our Journal

"A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step"

Roughly one year ago I wrote the following:
Since 1992 Mike and I have enjoyed many wonderful journeys together. All of which began with a single step. We took our first step on the road to Aiden last December. At the time we did not know we had a son nor that his name would be Aiden. This summer, about seven months into our adoption journey we received the most wonderful surprise. The referral of our son!

We are very fortunate to be supported by many through their friendship and love. We have created this journal to share with you the rest of our journey; our anxious wait to travel, the travel itself as well as the precious time when Xin Fa becomes a McCown (and a Moore!).

Now Summer of 2008:
When I started this journal I figured we would keep it for one year and that would be it. Turns out we will be traveling to China again within the next year! Yes, Mike and I are soon to be the proud parents of not one but TWO boys! This time our process is a little backwards, as we know who our son is but we have also just begun the paperchase. This time we will share our journey from the very begining, through the anxious wait and again the precious time when Fu Zhang becomes a McCown (and a Moore).
