In China
Hope
June 30, 2009

Today we received a call from our guide at 8 a.m. There has been some confusion about the new regulation to have a tb test before coming home. We found out that our agency had received the wrong information since this is all brand new. Alex is not (more)...

Welcome To Our Journal

Welcome to our adoption website!
We're going back to China! And it's for another boy. Nick is going to have a little brother. We're planning to name him Alexander James and he turns four tomorrow, January 26th. We have some super cute pictures of our son, but we can't post them yet. We did a pretty good job of showing him off at church today :)
Check out the journal entries starting January 25, 2009 to follow along on our journey to get Alex.

We hope you enjoy reading about our journey to get our son Nicholas from China. (We adopted Nick in August of 2007 if you would like to read about our first trip to China). Here is an excerpt from our first entry on this website about two years ago. At that time, we knew nothing about Nick or Alex.

"We do not always know what is coming up next on this journey. What we do know is who is driving our "car" through this process. We trust our Heavenly Father to take us to our destination safely and in His perfect time. The road that God selects is always best for us. We know that we could not get through this process without the daily presence of Jesus Christ in our lives. We hope that this site will give Him praise and honor."

Well, we definitely did not know what was coming. In October of 2005, we felt like God was leading us to adopt a child from China. We knew there were many baby girls available for adoption in China. So in March of 2006, we began the process to adopt a little baby girl from China. We decided we would name her Rylie- a combination of our names. We worked for the rest of the year on paperwork and finally submitted our paperwork to China in January 2007. We had no idea God already had picked out our son for us and he was living in an orphanage in Henan, China. In April, we saw Nick's picture and both agreed "That is our son." We found out by early May we would be able to move forward with adopting him. We waited to tell most people until after Julie's sister's wedding in June, so the information on our journey to get Nick begins in the June 2007 journal entries (on the left side bar).

"How blessed is God! And what a blessing He is! He's the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in Him. Long before He laid down earth's foundations, He had us in mind, and settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love. Long, long ago He decided to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ." Ephesians 1:3-5 (The Message)

"From beginning to end he's there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross." Colossians 1:18-20 (The Message)
