Completed Home Study
December 18, 2004

Yippee! Yesterday we completed our fourth and final home study with New Life Christian Adoption. Our social worker's name was Nicole Zimners and she was very easy to work with. To be honest, the entire process was a snap. The hardest part was all of the paper work leading up to the visits.

For the most part, Nicole simply came over and hung out with us on four different occasions. She sat down with Tricia and I and asked us some pretty basic questions during the last two visits. Questions like, "what makes Tricia a good mother?" I was able to rattle off at least ten different things on that question.

Last night we splurged and took the kids to a chinese restaurant (Hing Ta) to celebrate! The owner, Lien, was very happy to hear about our adoption. The kids shared some authentic ;-) sweet-and-sour chicken while Tricia and I had the buffet.

After dinner we went to Michael's to get Morgan some pipe-cleaners for a craft she wanted to do. While we were walking around, Morgan's attention was caught by a mom and her two daughters. It just so happened that they were chinese girls who were adopted. Tricia walked over and began visiting with the lady. It added to our excitement.

Anyhow, back to the home study. Nicole said that we were approved! We are looking forwarding to receiving our letter of recommendation so we can begin applying for grants.

Exciting times!

Authentic sweet and sour chicken . . . but most Chinese people have never heard of it and tell you it doesn't exist. You can get sweet and sour ribs, boneless pork, or fish. They're all delicious! Can't wait to treat you to some real Chinese food. Do you like spicy food?
