Lydia's Dedication....and pictures!
January 22, 2007
So, here are the pictures you have all been waiting for! Doug surprised me last Friday with a new computer! A computer that lets us actually access our website! So, we can now put up pictures.
The ones that you see here to the left are pictures from Lydia's dedication. Saturday, January 20th, we met at the church with a group of family and friends to dedicate our new daughter to God. It was an amazing time of worship and thanksgiving.
I had spent a few days previously preparing a slideshow for the dedication, and it came out very well. I am going to try to find a way to put it online for everyone to see, but I'm not sure if that's even possible.
Our church's praise team was there for the dedication, which was wonderful! They certainly had much better things that they could have done on a snowy Saturday night! But they were there, and we had an awesome time worshipping! Then we showed the slideshow that I had prepared, and then we sang some more. After the time of worship, our dear friend James St John spoke about adoption and salvation and then we dedicated Lydia to God. After this, I sang and then we had another slideshow and another song and we were done. We all slid across the icy roads to Ryan's, where we chowed down on some super steak and shrimp. Yum!
We have been out of commission for the past week because we had NO POWER. The Missouri ice storm knocked us out and held us down for a full week. But, last night, Doug came up to the house from our friend's (where we were staying) and called us from his cell phone. "We have power!!!" And there was much rejoicing.
My friend Cindy, who has been about my closest friend since 6th grade or so, flew into St Louis on Friday morning and leaves tomorrow morning. We've had a pretty good time talking about all the current happenings of our old school.
Good night. Enjoy the pictures.
