Welcome To Our Journal

Welcome to our travel journal. We are Dave & Amanda Hughes along with our 3 blessings Josie (almost 5), Asher (almost 3) and Zach (almost 1). We are on the ride of a lifetime on our way to China to meet our daughter Xia Yan in Shanxi. We are so excited for her to join our family. We will name her Emma-Kate and she just turned 2 in June. What a blessing she is!

Our adoption has been in the works for over 15 years. While still in high school Amanda knew she would be a mother of an Asian child. We have been in our process for Xia Yan for over 2 years, knowing it was time to apply coincidentally about the time Xia Yan was born. We have seen God's hand in our adoption with some pretty unexplainable things, and know we are in line with His will.
