Welcome To Our Journal

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." (James 1:27)

"learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow." (Isaiah 1:17)

"For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, 'Abba, Father.'" (Romans 8:15)

Do you have any idea how many scriptures there are pertaining to orphans, the fatherless or adoption? Honestly, we don't, but we do know that God's Word is FILLED with them! Five years ago before we began this journey we had no idea how much God desires Christian families to take care of these children.

After adopting once, we honestly believe that there is no possible way for one to fully understand God's love for them completely without having traveled the road to rescue a child. Only then, can we truly comprehend how God loved us enough to include us in His family even though we have no birth right.

Adoption is a miraculous thing! It has forever changed our lives as well as our children's. It is with this transformation of our hearts that we feel called to return to China. Most of you know that we have been truly blessed with 2 biological children who are now 11 and 9 as well as our 2 year old daughter who we returned from China with in September 2008. This past Mother's Day we began to feel God calling us to return to China again. We are excited to have the opportunity to go back and get another daughter who is just 3 1/2 months younger than Katie. We are hoping to provide our youngest daughters with the same privilege of growing up with a sibling close in age as Lindsay and Jake have enjoyed throughout their childhood (they enjoy it most days anyway).

We began the process last May and were matched with our daughter off the shared list for waiting children in July. Now Susan and her sister, Lori are hoping to travel soon. We have already chosen her name to be Hallie Grace.

Please pray for us as we embark on this journey again. Pray for God's leading and for us to recognize His will. Also, pray for Hallie as she is somewhere in that very big country waiting on her family to come and bring her home!
