Welcome To Our Journal
This journey to become parents has been long awaited for us and we want you to follow along as we become first time parents. We started our journey back in 2003 right after we got married on the 4Th of July. We tried to have a child naturally and even started doing infertility treatments for the first year and a half but it was not meant to be. We decided that our next step to become parents was to adopt. We were drawn towards adopting from China because we had extended family and friends that had adopted internationally and found their experience to be what we wanted. The China Program was the most predictable and seemed to be running very smoothly. As I said "SEEMED" to be running smoothly because at the time we got started with our paperchase, we were told it was 6 to 8 months from Log in Date to Referral. Well... that changed to 12 months, then to 14 months, then 16 months and Now it's looking like 17 months!!! Some of the reasons for the delays we heard were that there were more dossiers logged in, that there weren't enough babies "Paper Ready" and also that the China Center of Adoption Affairs had moved into a new office. Whatever the reasons, we know that we will be matched with the baby that was meant to be part of our FAMILY!!!
